Construction bid leveling software

Award on the leveled number, not the base bid.

Bid leveling puts every submitted bid for a package in one grid, scope item by scope item. Excluded scope is flagged, private adjustments close the gaps, and each bid's leveled total is compared against the median before you select and award.

What it does

Compare bids side by side and award on the leveled number.

Scope-item grid

Every bidder in a column and every scope item in a row, showing included items, any breakout amounts, and excluded scope flagged as missing.

Private adjustments

Add plus or minus adjustments to any bid, optionally tied to a scope item, to price excluded work or remove extras. Only your team sees them.

Leveled totals

Each bid's leveled total is its base bid plus your adjustments. The lowest leveled bid is highlighted, and bids sort from low to high.

Median, spread and outliers

See the median and the spread across bids. With three or more bids, any bid more than 15 percent from the median is flagged as an outlier.

Exclusions, alternates and addenda

Alternates are shown separately from the total. Exclusions and qualifications sit beside each bid, and bids missing the latest addendum are flagged.

Select, then award

Selecting a bid is an internal pick. Awarding marks the winner awarded and every other bidder not awarded, and each bidder sees the result.

How it works

Step by step.

From the first step to the final record.

  1. Step 1

    Open the package

The leveling overview lists each package with bids in, its spread, any missing scope and the current pick.

  2. Step 2

    Close the scope gaps

Add adjustments where a bidder excluded scope or included extras, so every bid covers the same work.

  3. Step 3

    Compare

Review leveled totals against the median, check outliers, exclusions and addenda acknowledgements, and look at alternates.

  4. Step 4

    Select

Mark the bid you intend to award. The selection is internal and can be changed.

  5. Step 5

    Award

The package manager awards the selected bid. The leveled amount carries into the estimate and buyout.

Who uses it

Built for the whole project team.

Everyone on the job works in the same record — each sees what their role allows.

Questions

Bid leveling, answered.

Do bidders see my adjustments?

No. Adjustments are visible only to the general contractor's team and never appear on a bidder's view of their invitation.

What counts as missing scope?

A scope item the bidder excluded that you haven't covered with an adjustment. Leveling flags it on the bid and on the package overview.

Are alternates included in the leveled total?

No. Alternates are listed separately so you can compare them without changing the base comparison.

What is the difference between selecting and awarding?

Selecting is your internal pick and can be changed. Awarding is final for the package: the winner is marked awarded and every other bidder is marked not awarded.
